I have been told that I see the world in an unusual way. I hope that is good thing. My father encouraged me to take my very first photograph when just 10 years old. After my first shot with his prized 35mm Leica camera, I knew this was my calling.
Just a few short years later, I remember the impression it made on me to see my first image published in my hometown newspaper, The Port Arthur News. I was hooked. When I was 17 years old, I saw my first byline under a high school football photograph that ran on the front page. From that time forward, I knew I wanted to be a photojournalist and work for a large, daily newspaper. I wanted to have the opportunity to travel and cover news. I have a deep passion for photographing people and places, while telling a story.
I have been honored to have a successful career in photojournalism for the past three decades. I have traveled the world to cover major news stories and witness significant parts of history.
I love what I do and I hope you will take a moment to look at some of my favorite photographs.
